Our journey together began among a pandemic. Finding love during this hard time wasn’t easy but we made it because we believed that we found each other for a reason. Our love story started in June 2020. We had to find ways to get out together without endanger ourselves or loved ones. Here in Downtown Detroit, we were able to enjoy the holiday festivities safely, whether it was walking in parks or driving around exploring the beauty of our amazing state. All we cared about is being with each other because as long as we are together, our love was going to grow.

finding A soulmate STARTED Seven thousand miles a way
Ruaa grew up in Baqubah, Iraq in a different life, culture, and customs than what Chuck had growing up in here in Detroit. She never thought that her soulmate was thousands of miles away from her but destiny had a great plan for her. Ruaa went on a journey of freedom and found a new life in a new country after living through years of war in Iraq. She made it to the Untied State in 2008 filled with hopes and dreams. She strived through trials and tribulations, learning a new language, creating a new home, and furthering her education at Walsh University. She graduated in 2019 with a degree in Finance and now works financials for a Detroit logistics company.
After growing up in the Detroit area, Chuck went to Western Michigan University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. He then continued to the University of Kansas where he completed his Masters degree in Education. Chuck enjoyed his time living and working in Ohio and South Carolina before returning to his roots in Michigan. Even though his path was winding, it led him back to find the love of his life. Now we’ll spend our time building a new life together.

Our time together has seen many great joys to celebrate. New job and opportunities, purchasing a home, exploring the world and each others culture together has made each moment sweeter.
With familial blessings and well wishes, Ruaa accepted Chuck’s engagement on November 27, 2021. We were honored to have the ring custom crafted by Ruaa’s own brother, Aws, who carries on the tradition of skilled jewelers in their family.
